For years, the Korean-American Youth Assistance Coalition, Inc. (KAYAC) honored students who demonstrated extraordinary commitment to serving others with the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). The PVSA has inspired students to give back, reinforced KAYAC’s culture of service, and highlighted meaningful stories of kindness and leadership that deserve to be seen.

In May 2025, the PVSA program was put on indefinite hold due to federal funding cuts. Rather than leave outstanding student contributions unrecognized, KAYAC established the KAYAC Volunteer Service Award as a temporary alternative during this pause. This award includes Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels, each aligned with the PVSA strict criteria and evaluated using the same monitoring methods KAYAC has trusted for years.
