KAYAC Homeland Excursion Application

KAYAC Homeland Excursion Program:  July 6, 2020 – July 16, 2020 (10 nights 11 days)

Departure date:  July 5, 2020 Sunday 12:50 am KAL flight (midnight)

Meeting Time and Location:  July 4, 2020 Saturday at 9 pm (JFK Airport’s KAL Ticketing Counter)

The program will end on July 16. You will be able to choose from 4 tentative return dates (7/16, 7/23, 7/30, 8/6).  The return trip dates will be confirmed at a later time.

Program Partner:  Korea University

Program Location:  Korea University (Sejong Campus) and other locations around the country

Student Eligibility:  8th, 9th & 10th Korean-American high school students as of November 2019 (approximately 60)

Program Objectives:  Cultural, industrial, historical, language and military experiences in Korea

Application Process: Online application at KAYAC homepage (www.kayacny.org)

Application Fee:  $2,200 (includes all, roundtrip airfare, room & board, admissions fee to various events, transportation, & food during the trip) Payable to: KAYAC – Please write the applicant’s Korean and English names on the memo line. The application fee of the accepted students will be deposited around 3/5/2020.

Registration (register online only):  Application forms are submitted online. Pledge of Oath form, Questionnaire, Passport size photo, Self-introduction letter (essay in either Korean or English), School report cards (2018 Fall, 2019 Spring and 2019 Fall – 3 semesters), valid passport copy (if no passport, copy of filed passport application), *Official School Transcript, Recommendation letter, and application fee should be mailed to the KAYAC office.  ** Achievement awards are welcome and can be either uploaded online or mailed.

Application Submission: After downloading the forms from the website, submit the completed application online.  Please mail the transcripts, recommendation, and application fee of $2,200 by express mail or certified mail to the KAYAC office (KAYAC, 190 Sylvan Avenue, Suite #D3, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632)

March 20, 2020 at 6:30 pm                            KAYAC Forum – All accepted students are required to attend the forum which

will take place at Dae Dong Manor in Flushing, New York.

June 20, 2020 at 10 am                                   Orientation – All accepted students are required to attend the orientation.

Documentation Instructions

Application is on www.kayacny.org website.

Application must be complete to be reviewed. Incomplete application will be disqualified.

Applications should be completed honestly, should there be any false statement, omission, or misrepresentation on the application, application will be disqualified.


After the program, the students can return to NY on any of the 4 dates given. Application fee for those not accepted will be voided and not deposited.


* Once documents are submitted, we will not return documents.  All are subject to change at the discretion of KAYAC.
